Automatic pail filling line with SysTec weighing electronics

At Hilti's Kaufering site, SysTec partner KESTERMANN GmbH recently installed a fully automated pail filling line with robot handling. In this process, a fire protection paste is filled into containers of different sizes - calibratable, fast and precise. The powerful SysTec weighing terminals of the IT8000E series, in conjunction with the FILL E application software, ensure high throughput.

The process
A multi-stage and fully automated filling process takes place during pail filling: First, the product code is scanned in by an employee. The filling parameters are contained in the IT8000E weighing electronics and automated filling now starts:
At the first station, a robot takes over the unstacking of the buckets. The buckets are then transported on a conveyor belt to the table scale station. Here, a filling system fills the buckets. The SysTec weighing electronics ensure precise and fast filling of the fire protection paste into the containers. The next step is to apply a film on the bucket. Then a robot places the bucket lid on the filled bucket. At the last station, the lid is pressed firmly onto the bucket by a pressure device and closed. Among the advantages of the SysTec weighing systems with verification capability are the PROFINET connection, the robustness of the weighing electronics and the product-specific parameter settings.
