10GigE camera series from MATRIX VISION with rugged housing for industrial environment

New standards with 10GigE

With the standard 10GigE interface, the mvBlueCOUGAR-XT achieves a particularly high net data rate of 1245 MB/s. The integrated frame buffer of 2048 MB ensures reliable data transfer, which is crucial for applications with high speeds. In addition to the high bandwidth, the interface also offers cost advantages through standardization and the widespread availability of common Gigabit Ethernet components. Thanks to Power over Ethernet (PoE+), the camera can be powered via the Ethernet cable. Furthermore, the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) according to IEEE1588 creates the possibility to control the camera via software and to ensure precise synchronization when operating multiple cameras simultaneously. This can save expenses for hardware and commissioning. In multicast mode, the camera allows images to be transmitted to multiple computers, enabling parallel processing of the data.

A variety of multipurpose I/Os allow accessories such as motorized lenses, lighting or control devices to be easily controlled via the camera. The number of necessary system components can thus be reduced.

Better image quality through modern sensor technology

The camera series opens up the use of advanced image sensor technology, such as that of Sony's Pregius S Gen4 CMOS family. With global shutter technology with backside illumination, the electronics are mounted on the back of the sensor and do not further limit the light-sensitive area. Thus, the Gen4 sensors achieve a better image result with a pixel size of only 2.74µm.

The first models of the mvBlueCOUGAR-XT include the 24.6 MP IMX530 sensor with 50.5 FPS, the 20.4 MP IMX531 sensor with 60.9 FPS or the 16.2 MP IMX532 sensor with 76.5 FPS. Models with IMX535, IMX536 and IMX537 sensors will be available later this year.

Use in industrial environment

Thanks to the compact IP67 housing and industrial connectors, the camera series is predestined for use in harsh environments. In order to guarantee the protection class also for the lenses, MATRIX VISION offers on the one hand protection tubes in different lengths, on the other hand IP67 lenses can be used, which do not need any further protection measures.

The combination of high speed and resolution makes the camera series ideal for applications in areas such as logistics, the packaging industry, metrology or even flat panel and wafer inspection in the electronics and semiconductor industry.

The 10GigE camera is compatible with GenICam™ and GigE Vision® standards. Drivers are available for both Linux and Windows. Furthermore, the camera also supports third-party software that is compatible with GigE Vision®.
