Accelerometer selection considerations

Accelerometers with charge output and in ICP® technology are available in large numbers for shock and vibration measurements. Selection criteria include the electrical and physical characteristics of the accelerometer, its performance characteristics, and considerations regarding environmental and operating conditions. A comparison of the advantages and limitations between the two basic types can be helpful in choosing the most appropriate sensor and measurement system for a specific application in test bench, production, underwater or road test.
