Advantech: ADAM-6200 communication modules with fault tolerance

The devices of the ADAM-6200 series virtually build their own communication network. If one of the modules does not work, it is simply hidden without affecting all the others. A web interface allows configuration and monitoring of all modules (even in groups). The modules are addressed via the widely used Modbus TCP/IP protocol.

There are various modules for different purposes:

Analog inputs with various input voltage ranges, calibration function, cable break detection
Analog outputs with various output voltages, start value generation, controlled voltage increase, safety voltages.
Digital inputs with various functions such as latch, counter and frequency measurement
Digital outputs for pulsed signals, time-controlled switch-on and switch-off processes, etc.
In addition to the pure IO functions, the ADAM-6200 modules can also be used as stand-alone control and regulation modules. A simple programming logic allows the fast implementation of simple logic functions without PC support. Since the modules can also communicate with each other independently and exchange data, this creates an intelligent, networked control structure with a high level of fail-safety.
