ASC's digital accelerometer, capacitive accelerometer, tilt sensor product technology and market applications
2023-05-04 21:55:21, ASC GmbHASC's main value is the close cooperation with our customers, whose success is often built on our innovative sensor solutions.ASC transforms analog sensor technology into intelligent digital sensor solutions and can offer probably the most comprehensive range of capacitive accelerometers in the world. The product range is completed by piezoresistive and piezoelectric accelerometers, tilt sensors, gyroscopes and inertial measurement units (IMUs). The high quality sensors come from their own production - made in Germany and deployed worldwide.
Product I. Digital accelerometers
Technology
The ASC DiSens series is a new ASC sensor solution with a digital interface. It combines high quality sensors with an integrated data acquisition system, thus eliminating the need for separate data acquisition.
Due to the transmission of digital data, many disturbances no longer play a role, which is especially important for long cable lengths. The series starts with the new MD model, a three-axis digital accelerometer. The sensors are available in 2G, 4G and 8G measuring ranges and are set up via integrated software. The acceleration values are transferred as raw data to the host system via the EtherCAT protocol.
There, they are processed by a separate analysis software. The active power supply can be daisy-chained to up to 12 devices. The included DEWESoft X3 software package offers many advantages for daily test and measurement work, such as time saving and easy updating, analysis and reporting.
Applications
Structural health monitoring, bridge monitoring, seismic measurements, mobile network antennas, structural monitoring, vibration monitoring of construction machinery, condition monitoring of mechanical equipment.
Cable
Standard network cable (SFTP) CAT6E.
Product II. Tilt Sensors
ASC tilt sensors can be used for static measurements in many different applications.
1、MEMS tilt sensor (tilt meter) single and dual axis
Technologies
ASC's tilt sensors measure static acceleration where the earth's gravity is the measured acceleration. The sensors are based on MEMS capacitive accelerometer sensing elements. The change in tilt corresponds to the change in acceleration, the component of gravity change acting on the accelerometer.
The accelerometer experiences an acceleration of ±1 g through a full scale output of ±2 V. High sensitivity low g accelerometers have the highest resolution in tilt measurements. The analog voltage output from the tilt sensor can be converted to the degree of tilt.
The tilt sensor has excellent long-term bias stability (0.1°) and high resolution (0.005°). The low temperature coefficient of bias is ideal for test results. The wider temperature range, -25°C to +100°C, has high shock limits for optimal operation. In addition, the IP68 rating of the stainless steel housing is qualified for demanding applications.
Applications
Structural health monitoring and surveys, bridge monitoring, tilt meters, solar array tracking systems, geotechnical monitoring of critical locations for positioning systems.
2、Digital Fluid Tilt Sensor
Technology
The new sensor ASC TSF-360 utilizes the physical effect that the surface of the fluid is always precisely aligned horizontally. The angle between the sensor and the horizontal surface is measured with the dielectric fluid capacitance by means of an appropriate electrode arrangement.
The analog measured values are digitized, calculated and output as angle via a digital interface (CAN/CANopen). Therefore the user does not need a separate data acquisition system.
Compared to MEMS-based tilt sensors, the ASCTSF-360 has a very low lateral tilt sensitivity due to the liquid-based measurement principle.
Compared to conventional tilt sensors, the sensor can be used as a 360° tilt sensor. The sensor with internal temperature compensation has a high accuracy of <±0.1° over the entire measurement range. The sensor can be used anywhere on earth, as the measured value is independent of the magnitude of the acceleration due to gravity at the measurement point. The aluminum housing of the sensor complies with IP67 level protection and is therefore also suitable for use in harsh environments.
Applications
Automotive, special vehicle construction, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aviation technology, marine engineering, environmental engineering, solar technology.
Cables
Standard CAN cable with connector CAN M12-5PIN
Product III. piezoresistive accelerometer
1、MEMS piezoresistive accelerometer Single axis
Technology
ASC's single-axis piezoresistive accelerometers are made from advanced piezoresistive MEMS sensing elements that provide excellent dynamic range and stability. The devices feature a full Wheatstone bridge output configuration and operate over a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C or -40°C to +100°C. Minimal internal gas damping provides excellent nonlinearity (±1%), excellent shock survivability (up to 5000g and 10000g) and ±5% frequency response from DC to 2.5 kHz and 4000 Hz.
The ASC66C2 is excellent for higher performance in temperature, shock and frequency response.
