Efficiency as a guiding principle

Whether it's hardware, firmware or software: When it comes to development, Christian Metzger is not easily outdone. He is Head of Firmware Platforms and, with 20 years with the company, a true Balluff veteran. Metzger joined Balluff during his studies at the dual university in Stuttgart. Over the years, he got to know the development of industrial automation from all sides, worked on numerous products and technologies, and was involved in the development of the industry standard IO-Link.

Today, the engineering graduate represents Balluff in the IO-Link community and leads an international team of 13 developers. Together they create the technical foundation for Balluff products. What has accompanied Christian Metzger in this since day one? "The topic of efficiency. It runs through all our tasks in development. Why do things twice and three times when we can establish sensible, uniform standards?"
