Evaluation units for intrinsically safe EGE sensors now with IECEx approval

In line with the growing number of its IECEx-certified 2-wire sensors, EGE now also offers evaluation devices of the IKM series with IECEx approval. This approval simplifies the worldwide export and use of intrinsically safe products for machine and plant manufacturers, even in many countries where this was previously not possible or only possible with considerable certification effort.

The evaluation units of type IKMb 122 Ex are suitable for connecting EGE's intrinsically safe 2-wire sensors for gas and dust atmospheres. They have a space-saving top-hat rail housing that is only 22 mm wide and are mounted outside the hazardous areas. Green, yellow and red LEDs on the front of the housing signal the operating status as well as alarm messages of the integrated cable break detection and short circuit monitoring. The output can be set as a normally closed or normally open contact.
