GX200 draw wire sensor – robust all-rounder for demanding heavy-duty applications
2026-01-21 08:45:24, WayCon Positionsmesstechnik GmbHThe draw wire sensor also demonstrates its strengths in applications with high dirt and dust loads away from the coast. Thanks to its outstanding shock and vibration resistance, the GX200 is ideal for tunnelling and mining, where rockfall and strong mechanical impacts quickly push other sensor systems to their limits.
In addition to the standard position output, the GX200 can optionally be equipped with a speed and an inclination output. This allows the sensor to be used as a complete all-in-one device, significantly reducing the need for additional sensors. The position output is available either as an analogue signal (potentiometer, current or voltage) or as a digital output (CANopen). This enables simple and reliable integration into standard control systems and digital displays. Optionally available redundant output signals also increase operational reliability in safety-critical applications.
With measuring ranges from 3 to 12 metres, the GX200 covers a wide spectrum of measuring lengths. The electronics are housed in the exceptionally robust housing and reliably protected against dust, water and high-pressure cleaning in accordance with IP67/IP69K. A wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C ensures safe operation even at extreme temperatures. For applications with coarse dirt or rocks, the sensor can also be fitted with protective plates to effectively protect the measuring cable. In addition, various cable fastenings such as cable clip, M6 thread, ring eye or swivel head are available to enable optimum adaptation to the respective application.
Thanks to its versatility, high measuring accuracy and highly robust construction, the GX200 draw-wire sensor is perfectly tailored to the requirements of modern heavy-duty applications. With its long lifespan and optional redundant output signals, it supports the reliable automation of processes and makes a significant contribution to increasing operational safety. Especially in critical areas with severe conditions, where other sensors reach their performance limits, the GX200 proves to be an indispensable solution.
