An intrinsically safe, ATEX-certified 1/2-inch microphone is available under the model designation EX378B02, which can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres for measurements in gas atmospheres. The basis is the proven free-field microphone model PCB-378B02 in ICP®/IEPE technology. Applications include leak detection on gas pipelines or the testing of gas tanks.

The microphone covers the frequency range 3.75 ... 20.000 Hz and has a sensitivity of 50 mV/Pa. The dynamic range is 137 dB, the inherent noise is 15.5 dB(A).
