JUMO enables pairing of temperature probes with different cable lengths

In heat meters for heating systems, two paired temperature sensors are usually used for symmetrical installation, which must have identical line lengths in order to comply with the legal regulations. As the first manufacturer, JUMO has now developed a technology that enables the realization of different cable lengths for one probe pair, thus saving costs.
With the help of the new process, different sleeve types, cable colors and markings are also possible for a temperature sensor pair. These combinations are available for all OEM versions in current designs with type examination certificate. As the only restriction, the temperature sensor pairs of different versions must be permanently connected to the calculator and must not be interchangeable. This is the case with so-called compact meters. In addition, the user must declare conformity for the meter or its sub-assemblies if this meter is to be used for business purposes. However, he can easily refer to the type examination certificate from JUMO.
As the world market leader for temperature probes for heat meters, JUMO has decades of experience in researching and developing new products for this industry. With the new technology, the sensors are paired with a specially developed process in the temperature sensors compared to normal pairing. Due to different cable lengths, there is a difference in the electrical resistance at the end of the temperature sensor. However, this resistance difference can be calculated and communicated to the customer via data sheets or via the content of a 2D barcode on the label. This barcode also contains further data such as characteristic parameters, sensor data, approvals or even customer-specific texts.
