Low-noise ¼-inch ICP®/IEPE microphone

PCB Piezotronics is expanding its portfolio of microphones with the model 378A08. The new ¼-inch free-field microphone with ICP®/IEPE preamplifier system measures from 25 dBA and can be used for various sound fields.

With a sensitivity of 50 mV/Pa, the 378A08 has a high sensitivity compared to other ¼“ microphones and therefore achieves a very low noise level, which is typically only achieved by ½” microphones.

The small diameter minimizes the influence on the sound field, especially at higher frequencies, even when used in sound fields other than the free field.

The microphone can be used for various test applications, e.g. for testing interior noise in the automotive and aviation industries, for tests in electric vehicles and investigations on household appliances.

In addition to the ¼-inch microphone presented here, PCB® also offers a ½-inch microphone, model 378A04, specifically for low-noise applications.
