MCR-4V data logger from T&D: new, inexpensive and fast

The small data logger MCR-4V (120 x 75mm) is powered by two AA batteries. It provides 4 galvanically isolated voltage inputs that can measure in four ranges (±300mV; ±1.5V; ±6V and ±24V). When measuring on one channel only, a sampling rate of 500Hz can be realized, on 4 channels simultaneously the device manages 100Hz (data sheet MCR-4V).

Up to four MCR-4V can be cascaded, whereby the first automatically becomes the master, all others then operate in slave mode. The master can initiate measurements manually or trigger-controlled.

The attractively priced device can store up to 480,000 measurement points. The data transfer is done via a USB connection or by an insertable FlashCard. The T&D Graph software developed by T&D, for example, is used to process the data; the MCR for Windows application is also available especially for the device.

As of February 2014, the same device is available under the product name MCR-4TC with the same functionality, but with four thermocouple inputs.
