More computing power, less greenhouse gases - Infineon and Chicony Power cooperate for GAN-based PD 3.1 notebook adapter solutions

With the USB PD 3.1 standard in place since 2021 and the strong competitiveness in power supplies in mind, Chicony Power has selected Infineon's CoolGaN™ and CoolMOS™ technology to realize the latest PD 3.1 power supply series with high performance. The 30 percent higher power density achieved by the new topology also shows excellent results in switching and conduction losses. The new power adapter delivers up to 240 watts instead of the 100 watts defined in USB 3.0 and charges high-performance notebooks such as gaming computers or multimedia workstations via USB-C power. The new power adapter can be used as a universal power supply for numerous electronic devices.
