Kit encoders are designed to be integrated into electric motors to provide position feedback for drive control. While they share many features with the stand-alone absolute encoders of the IXARC magnetic series, the kit encoders are a slimmed-down version without separate shafts or bearings. When installed in a motor, the rotating element - a permanent magnet - is attached directly to the motor shaft, while the electronics package with the sensor and measuring system is docked onto the motor housing. Mounting kits form a robust, cost-effective assembly that provides precise feedback on the rotary position of the shaft. Even inexpensive BLDC or stepper motors can use them to perform many of the functions of more expensive servo motors. POSITAL's 36 mm kits, which are based on robust and precise magnetic sensing technology, have been used successfully in countless motor feedback installations for years.
