VISOR® vision sensors


This issue introduces SensoPart's VISOR® vision sensors based on powerful, compact and lightweight smart cameras that offer innovative solutions. For example, target lasers for simple mechanical alignment or motorised focusing for automatic adjustment of individual working distances.


The VISOR® software is the ideal complement to the hardware, allowing the application to be set up quickly and parameterised in the process, in addition to offering the option of continuous monitoring of the process.


Hardware + software=VISOR®. SensoPart's vision sensors offer outstanding flexibility and can be supplied with different resolutions of up to 5 megapixels and three different fields of view, from narrow to wide.


In addition, for applications with special requirements, there is the option of mounting an external series of lenses. What all VISOR® devices have in common is the uniform integration of the device into your system. The integrated and standardised transmission protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP) make operation particularly easy.

Application scenarios


1. VISOR® Code Reader
The VISOR® Code Reader can effortlessly read many types of bar codes, as well as data matrix codes printed and directly marked according to the ECC-200 standard, and from any substrate (metal, plastic, paper, glass). The sensor can also routinely interpret codes that are tilted, twisted or applied to convex, reflective or transparent surfaces.


2. VISOR® Object
The VISOR® Object can always be tracked, immediately detecting faulty parts, parts in the wrong position, angular position, sequence or a combination of all these. The extensive calibration options range from simple scaling factors to correction of distortion and lens distortion at the click of a mouse.
With its highly accurate position and angular position detection, SensoPart's VISOR® Object is the best in its class for inspection tasks and evaluations including pattern matching, contour detection, caliper, BLOB, luminance, grey threshold and contrast detection.

3. VISOR® Robotic
In the course of Industry 4.0, the demands on today's robotic solutions are increasing, as is the desire for simple operability. And this is precisely where VISOR® Robotic comes in.
VISOR® robots are available in different versions and can be used to solve a wide range of automation tasks. With its integrated and standardised interfaces, it can be easily integrated into existing plants and systems and, thanks to the various calibration methods and flexible data structures, it can be used for different processes.


4. VISOR® Solar
To meet the increasing cost pressures in solar cell production, SensoPart has extended the range of VISOR® vision sensors with the VISOR® Solar. This compact sensor detects the position and any damage to wafers and cells, enabling the robot to pick up and precisely place the wafers.
VISOR® Solar can also be integrated into existing production lines like a light barrier. Before printing the cell, the sensor checks it for pre-existing damage that could lead to breakage during the printing process. This avoids expensive machine breakdowns.
