The RHEINTACHO "Black box" - Or: The measurement of infinite light

From the outside, an inconspicuous, purpose-built square "box", but with elaborate and intelligent technology inside. It is all about measuring the luminous intensity of super-short light flashes. These light flashes can be as short as 5µs. In this short time, the special xenon light units then achieve a brightness that is in the mega lux range.

With such a light concentration, you will not achieve usable results with the usual ways of brightness measurement. This problem arises especially with the large, stationary stroboscopes. Therefore, the stroboscope specialists in the RHEINTACHO development department set out to solve this problem themselves. With very good success.
Each RHEINTACHO stroboscope is accepted via this test facility and an individual test report is generated. The determined data are stored in the testing software. Such a test certificate is included with some portable models.

At this point, the "black box" has already fulfilled one important task: With the help of this system, the assemblies responsible for luminous efficacy and light distribution can be designed and selected much faster, more targeted and based on objective measurement data.
For example, the reflectors for the XENON stroboscopes were optimized in this way.
For LED stroboscopes, the measuring station provides important data for the selection and arrangement of the LEDs and also the design of the lens.
