The DSL-320 uses the double light transmission measurement technique with a folded beam transceiver/reflector arrangement.
A beam of light emitted by the transceiver (TRX) is directed through the duct, chimney, or stack to a reflector, which then returns the light to the transceiver, where the intensity of the received light is measured.
