The web sensor determines the compensation moisture on the surface of running webs such as paper, cardboard, foils, etc.. By means of suitable correlations (sorption isotherm), the compensation moisture can be used to infer the material moisture of the web. In paper mills, the relative humidity of the paper web can also be determined. This value is significant for the warranty.
