Mineral-insulated thermocouples are thermocouple wires pressed into refractory magnesium oxide, which ensure high pressure resistance, even under extreme conditions. The thermocouple wires are always insulated from each other and from the sheath. The advantages of sheathed thermocouples are mainly temperature resistance and flexibility of the sheathed cable. If desired, the thermocouples can also be welded to the sheath, resulting in a shorter response time.
