The STL50 safety temperature limiter is used wherever thermal processes have to be monitored and the system has to be switched to a safe operating state in the event of a malfunction. If the permissible temperature limit is reached or if an error occurs in the monitoring device within the permissible temperature range (sensor break, sensor short-circuit, failure of a component in the device, error in the software, failure or inadequate value of the auxiliary voltage, etc.), the STL50 switches off without delay. The alarm contact is actuated, the front LED ALARM and the backlight of the display light up, the cause of the error is shown on the display as plain text. In addition, a 24 V DC signal for an external alarm message is available at terminals 16-17. Alternatively, the device can be reset via an external contact. In addition, the STL50 has an optional programmable analog output with up- or downscaling function, as well as a pre-contact.
