AMS 4516 - The smallest wireless differential pressure sensor

Anyone who wants to read out their print data quickly and on the move will find their happiness in the new wireless AMS 4516 series. Unlike steel transmitters with tube fittings or complex measuring and evaluation systems, the AMS 4516 is limited to the essentials: The transmission of highly accurate pressure and temperature data and that with minimal space requirements. The AMS 4516 pressure sensor is very small and transmits wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.2 BLE. The pressure ranges extend from 0 to 5 mbar and 0 to 1 bar differential and from ±5 mbar to ±1 bar as bidirectional differential versions. In addition, an absolute pressure version is available as AMS 4506.

Quickly ready for use and flexible configuration

The sensors are calibrated, linearized and temperature compensated. The accuracy of the sensors depends on the pressure range and is between 0.5 and 1.5 % FSO over the entire temperature range. The power supply is provided by an easily replaceable button cell battery (CR2032).

For application-specific configuration of the sensor, it can connect to a smartphone or tablet. Thus, the sampling and transmission rate for the sensor readings can be set from 100 ms to 500 s via the app. The battery life depends on the configuration of the sensor and can be up to 3 years with a standard button cell of approx 230 mAh.

Mobile in protected housing

The sensors work in the so-called advertising (broadcasting) mode i.e.: the sensor sends without pause the measured values to the mobile terminal and the data are displayed there numerically as well as graphically. The sensor also has an EEPROM, which allows the measured values to be stored internally.
