A hygrometer is a measuring instrument used to define humidity (the amount of moisture in the air). The temperature hygrometer consists of a precision hygrometer and two bimetallic measuring systems that allow direct readings of temperature, relative humidity, saturation humidity and dew point based on the curve of the intersection of the surface temperature pointer and the relative surface humidity pointer. The case back is fitted with 3 powerful bar magnets for use on steel components. The instrument has been developed for metallisation requirements and is commonly used in areas such as ship protection, dockyards, bridges, steel constructions, mining and pipework. For work in these applications, the dew point temperature of the steel beam surface can be determined directly. This measurement method must ensure that no dew point precipitation occurs. If the ambient temperature is 3°C or more above the dew point temperature, the conditions of BSS 5493* are fulfilled and the metal surface can be painted. The BITHERMA temperature and humidity meter consists of a precision hygrometer and two bimetallic thermometers. Typically they are used for the protection of ships, docks, bridges, steel structures, mining and pipework. The hygrometer for stabbing is mainly used in agriculture. It is used to define the humidity in grain.
