COZIR: Ultrasonic Awake Current Carbon Dioxide Sensor Module
2016-11-28 08:59:20, Angst+Pfister Sensors and Power AG COZIR is a high performance ultrasonic awake current CO2 sensor module (3.5 mW) ideal for battery powered instruments and portable instruments. COZIR is based on patented IR LED and detector technology and innovative optical designs and is the lowest power NDIR sensor on the market. The obvious applications for the COZIR sensor module are battery-powered or autonomous gas sensor devices where optimization of energy consumption is the key parameter.
The COZIR sensor module series includes a division for industrial applications (Wide Range) and a division for HVAC systems and IAQ applications (Ambient). Optional in-situ temperature and humidity sensors are available for both divisions.
The COZIR Wide Range sensor modules are available for CO2 measuring ranges of 0...5 %, 0...20 %, 0...60 % and 0...100 %. The output of the sensor module is a simple Tx/Rx UART interface, but the COZIR Wide Range sensor module can also be configured with an analog voltage output. Ambient sensor modules are available for CO2 measurement ranges of 0...2000 ppm, 0...5000 ppm and 0...1 %. The output of the sensor module is a Tx/Rx UART interface. Both COZIR Wide Range and COZIR Ambient have a start-up time of less than 10 seconds and the time to first signal indication is an impressively short 1.2 seconds.
COZIR Ambient is particularly recommended for IAQ applications. When combined with a VOC gas sensor module (e.g., MiCS-VZ-86/89 series), the design of autonomous or battery-powered IAQ gas transmitters becomes more attractive from the standpoints of power management and reliable performance.
