VGA infrared camera for glass industry
2016-11-30 03:00:51, Optris GmbHIn the glass industry, the control of temperature is crucial and is made in almost all process steps. In enclosed and hot
areas, the temperature can sometimes only be determined by means of room sensors. The compact infrared thermometers and cameras from Optris GmbH enable use even in confined environments with high temperatures. The camera is used in the cooling process in flat glass production as well as in
container glass production.
Glass as a material requires special sensor technology When it comes to the precise measurement of temperatures, emissivity is a key factor. Glass has emissivities of approx. 0.85 in the long-wave range. At higher process temperatures, it is typically measured at 5.0 µm or even 7.9 µm, since in these spectral ranges the emissivity is ≥0.95. The main advantage of 7.9 µm is additionally the lower angular dependence of the
emissivity.
