Dielectric strength hollow shaft encoder WDG100I
2014-12-18 04:13:15, Wachendorff Automation GmbH & Co. KGIncremental hollow shaft encoders are used on drive motors, especially in the elevator construction, crane technology and wind energy industries. These applications require extreme robustness. The WDG 100I series from Wachendorff Automation has been specially developed for these applications and guarantees a long service life over many years thanks to the mechanics and electronics used.
In particular, the installed ball bearings are in their dimension and design a guarantee for reliability and durability. The encoder is mounted directly on the motor shaft. The finely balanced clamping ring of the WDG 100I ensures vibration-free concentricity of the encoder on the motor shaft. In addition to mechanical vibrations, so-called shaft currents can also be conducted to the ball bearings of the encoder and the encoder electronics via the motor shaft. This can lead to a creeping defect of the encoder mechanics - especially the ball bearings - and an impairment of the digital pulses. A precisely fitting, preassembled insulation sleeve protects the WDG 100I encoder against these shaft currents. The insulation sleeve is available with different diameters. It is quick and easy to assemble. The precisely matched shapes of the sleeve and the shaft, as well as an integrated safety groove, prevent the sleeve from falling out unintentionally. It is nevertheless possible to dismantle the insulation sleeve and replace it with another one to realize a different shaft diameter.
