Digital precision sensor for pressure and temperature
2015-07-13 07:34:59, STS Sensor Technik Sirnach AG The pressure applied in each case is an important key figure in machine and car construction, among other things. A car's air conditioning system, for example, only works properly if the coolant is forced through the pump system at a constant pressure. To enable engineers to control such and other systems, Swiss precision supplier STS Sensortechnik has developed the DTM.OCS digital pressure transmitter.
The compact design of the measuring component facilitates installation in all types of test stands. The DTM.OCS is also suitable for permanent process control, for example in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Very useful is the wide temperature scale from -40 to 85° Celsius, in which the device measures. The accuracy over the entire spectrum is 0.1 percent FS. At a constant ambient temperature, the sensor even achieves a precision of 0.03 percent FS.
"Customers who choose the DTM.OCS can use it to perform many different measurements for which they would otherwise need several devices," says Marc Simmen, Product Manager at STS Sensortechnik. "Add to that a variety of available process connections, electrical connections and cable types. Thanks to this modular product concept, we can deliver an application-ready product within seven working days, regardless of the required quantity," says Simmen. For customers who do not find what they are looking for in this wide range, STS Sensortechnik also offers the development of individual solutions.
For pressure and simultaneously temperature measurements (-5 ° to 80° Celsius) in liquids, the product variant DTM.OCS/N is suitable. With only one sensor, users thus measure two important values. Thanks to an optional titanium version, even acidic or otherwise aggressive media are no problem.
Due to the wide temperature spectrum as well as the Modbus RTU transmission protocol and the RS485 interface, both sensors meet the common standards of the industry. This allows the DTM.OCS to be installed in existing systems with minimal time and cost. Both products are also available with pluggable cable. This saves time by allowing the measuring device to be replaced without having to change the cabling. Another advantage is the possibility to change the zero point and the unit of measurement depending on the application.
