Draw-wire sensor SX300 - Application video sluice gate

The extremely robust SX300 draw-wire sensor from WayCon was specially developed for stroke measurement of hydraulic and telescopic cylinders.

Hydraulic cylinders open and close the sluice gates and must withstand considerable water pressure. The draw-wire sensor is used to control and monitor the travel speed and acceleration of the cylinders. The pressure-tight housing allows the sensor to be flanged directly to the cylinder, and the stainless steel measuring cable is simply attached to the piston. The sensor element, an absolute rotary encoder in the pressure-free range, provides precise information about the position of the piston with the highest accuracy and resolution.
