Piezoelectric strain sensors
2016-02-01 04:38:34, PCB Piezotronics GmbHThe remedy is provided by PCB® piezoelectric strain sensors, which are used for indirect force shunt measurements away from the force flow and in many applications provide equivalent measured values to force sensors after a one-time calibration.
Strain sensors are suitable for monitoring a wide range of manufacturing processes, for example in the metalworking industry. In the field of forming, these include various compression, tensile and flexural forming processes, in particular pressing. Strain sensors are also used for process monitoring in joining processes such as crimping, riveting and clinching as well as cutting processes such as cutting and punching. There are also areas of application for strain sensors in plastics processing. In injection molding and blow molding machines, for example, they monitor the closing and holding force of the two mold halves.
