After construction, Wachendorff always subjects the prototypes to intensive qualification and extensive stress tests in the company's own environmental simulation laboratory and at external testing institutes. In the case of the WDG145H hollow shaft encoder, the tests
were carried out in accordance with DIN 40 050 Part 9 or ISO 20653 with
Arizona dust (fine) SAE J726 conforming to ISO 12103-1 A2, among others, and were successfully passed by the test specimens.

Among many other possible applications, the enhanced WDG145H encoder solves the following applications: On open-air sites all over the world, e.g. solar trackers, this highly accurate encoder can significantly increase the efficiency of a solar system, as the controller can permanently and accurately track the optimum angle of the solar modules to the sun. Only in this way is it possible to achieve above-average energy yields. The high degree of protection prevents the high-resolution electronics from being undesirably affected by the often harsh environmental conditions, thus ensuring high operational reliability and efficiency.

Even elevators that are exposed to harsh environmental conditions, such as those in amusement parks or on construction sites, can now start up more smoothly with this encoder, be optimally controlled to speeds and approached more precisely to position.
