Find the right product - without searching!

This variety offers the user the perfectly suitable product for almost every application. However, it should be found quickly and reliably. The integration of a product selector was therefore already an important point during the initial planning of the new website.

What should such a selector be able to do? With which questions does a potential customer approach the product selection? Which specifications are "selection-relevant" and should be clarified in order to present the user with a selection that is also really useful?

The project team of RHEINTACHO under the leadership of Isabelle Thumm dealt intensively with these issues, discussed and designed in detail until a good and workable solution was found. You can now see the results at www.rheintacho.de. Currently, two product-specific selectors with the same range of functions are installed on the website. In the product selector for the speed sensors, the user can find the right sensor from a range of currently 111 sensors using 14 search criteria. Search criteria include: Output signal, geometry, measuring principle, frequency, etc.

For stroboscopes, 23 models are offered in the selector and by means of 11 features (for example: Light source, brightness, illumination area, ...), the selection can be reasonably limited.

After successful selection, the matching products are displayed in a list of results. From this list, the user can now compare up to 4 products and display the matching data sheet.
