Foreign trade in electrical equipment recently slipping slightly

With exports worth €20.1 billion, the German electrical and digital industry exported slightly less in August 2023 than a year earlier (- 1.4%). "Following the small decline of half a percent in July, electrical exports were thus down slightly for the second month in a row," said ZVEI Chief Economist Dr. Andreas Gontermann. "In the overall period from January to August inclusive, however, industry exports came to an aggregate value of 168.2 billion euros, an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year."
