JUMO plastoSENS T: Plastics sensor technology on the advance

In the fall of 2017, JUMO presented plastoSENS technology, an innovative and globally unique process for the production of temperature measurement technology from high-performance plastics. In the meantime, the first individual customer projects have been implemented.

JUMO plastoSENS T temperature probes are voltage and vibration resistant and absolutely waterproof. In addition, they are characterized by their absolute freedom of form and adapt to the respective installation situation. In addition to 4 standard products for various applications, there are now also various special designs. These JUMO plastoSENS products were developed in close cooperation with customers.

DFM - Digital Free-Form Multisensor Technology

With this project, JUMO is looking into the future of plastics sensor technology. The focus here is on a so-called modular system in which sensors for various measured variables such as temperature, humidity, pressure or force are installed in a plastic housing. By means of energy harvesting, the modules supply themselves with energy. The sensor signals are transmitted wirelessly through a Bluetooth interface. Up to 16 such sensor modules can then be connected to a gateway receiver.

As the first development with this technology, the expansion of the existing JUMO plastoSENS T04 pipe contact probe with a DFM module is currently in preparation. In each case, up to 3 pipe contact sensors could then be operated without auxiliary power with a module that transmits the measurement signals wirelessly.
