KROHNE inaugurates new corporate headquarters

On Thursday, April 6, 2017, KROHNE officially opened its new corporate headquarters in Duisburg. After the welcoming address by Michael Rademacher-Dubbick, Managing Director of the KROHNE Group and representative of the owner family, architect Philipp Baumhauer and Duisburg's Lord Mayor Sören Link also spoke to the employees and around 80 guests. Michael Rademacher-Dubbick called the building a "new architectural landmark and positive signal for Duisburg as a business location, which at the same time reflects the enormous growth of the KROHNE Group in recent years". Sören Link spoke of a "gem" for the city and wished the employees much joy in their new workplaces.

The new building with 7 floors and a striking all-glass facade was constructed in less than 2 years, the investment volume amounts to over 16 million euros. KROHNE put the project out to tender in a nationwide competition: 5 architectural firms submitted designs that differed greatly in design and estimated construction costs. In addition to the transparency and openness provided by the glass façade and the clear form, integration into the existing architecture was a decisive factor in the choice of the Baumhauer architects' office in Berlin.

The decision for the new building was made due to the continued growth of the KROHNE Group, which was founded in 1921: in 10 years, global sales have almost tripled (total sales 2015: 512.7 million, incl. joint ventures), today the company is a leading global supplier of industrial process instrumentation with more than 3,600 employees, 17 production sites, 45 wholly owned companies and 55 exclusive representative offices. Overall completion in October 2016, equipping with workstations and relocation of employees took place from November 2016.
