Matrix Innovation: Flexible pressure sensors in mass production, promising to create human touch for robots

Recently, the Dongguan Science and Innovation Training Camp 2021 "Transformation of the Results of Dual Innovation Projects and Project Practice" course was formally concluded. Within more than half a year, nearly 90 high-quality technology-based projects have achieved an all-round improvement of entrepreneurial skills through the training camp's entrepreneurial project results transformation cultivation course.

As one of the representatives of the final project of the Science and Innovation Training Camp, Matrix Innovation is a start-up company in the field of flexible sensors, which started its development in Dongguan Songshan Lake. After two years of difficult research, Matrix Innovation has now achieved a mass production solution for flexible pressure sensors with complete decoupling of functionality and reliability. "The existing flexible pressure sensor solution can meet the needs of high reliability, low trigger force, large range and low cost, and is widely used in robotics, electronic musical instruments, medical testing, adult toys and other fields." said Kuang Zheng, General Manager of Matrix Innovation.

Last year, in order to accelerate the innovation team to cultivate "internal strength", Kuang Zheng enrolled in the Dongguan Science and Technology Innovation Training Camp.

Just this year, in order to further promote the iterative development of the participating projects, Dongguan course training camp organizing committee according to the needs of the participating projects, the organization of matrix innovation and other enterprises to visit Ruifeng Investment, Songshan Lake Angel Fund, on investment and financing related docking, for matrix innovation on the project product application scenarios and other aspects put forward a lot of relevant recommendations, matrix innovation and the Guangdong Academy of Sciences has also reached the initial strategic cooperation.

"Innovation and entrepreneurship, many times are taking the road that others have not taken, the main tone is always lonely, keep the original intention and independent thinking is the basis of entrepreneurs can contribute to society, but also not simply behind closed doors, the input of information from the outside world can help us to correct the direction, but also to maintain the growth of nutrients on the way to entrepreneurship." Kuang Zheng said that by participating in entrepreneurial activities such as the Dongguan Science and Innovation Training Camp, not only did he receive help in terms of entrepreneurial resources, he also met many like-minded people and was able to provoke deeper thinking during the clash of ideas with his mentor or other entrepreneurs. "It's a rare opportunity especially for early stage entrepreneurs."

At present, Matrix Innovation has completed its angel round and is now focusing on advancing the implementation of its existing business and realising the business closure loop. Kuang Zheng said that the company has continued to improve the existing pilot production line to complete the double improvement of production capacity and yield rate, while continuing to expand its R&D and business staff in an attempt to build a B-side team that can carry more demand and be ready for delivery in the second half of the year.
