The Matrix Innovation FLX series is a new class of thin-film pressure sensors, which can be called "electronic skin".

The pressure applied to the thin film area of the sensor can be converted into a change in electrical resistance to obtain pressure information. The higher the pressure, the lower the resistance, and its piezoresistive characteristics are characterised by a power function relationship between resistance and pressure, and an approximately linear relationship between the inverse of resistance and pressure. It can be widely used in security, education, smart home, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, medical equipment, industrial control, intelligent robotics and other fields. With a contact area the size of an index finger, it allows for pressure in the range of 10g-5kg.

The sensor is prepared from a flexible material that can be attached to the surface of curved products and is very easy to use as the pressure reading can be obtained by simply arranging it on the surface of the part to be measured.

Compared to FSR sensors on the market, the FLX series sensors have a simpler and more reliable structure, are capable of vacuum handling, have a low contact area impact and are pressure sensors in the physical sense. Their excellent performance and price-generic properties allow them to cover more C-end scenarios.
