New from Gefell - Condenser measuring microphone capsule MK 255 with permanent polarization
2020-06-18 10:18:59, Microtech Gefell GmbH
The new developed capsule has a fixed layer of backelectrets to supply the polarization voltage. lt is designed and very carefully constructed to ensure excellent long-time stability of the electroacoustical parameters. All essential components including the diaphragm are made of stainless steel. The diaphragm is fixed by a special laser welding process. The rear electrode, holder of the backelectret, is insulated from the capsule housing by a quartz glass plate. The diaphragm is protected against mechanical damage by a protection grid. Convenient measurement of each capsuleās frequency response curve by applying a well-defined electrostatic field (400 V/dc,30 V/ac) is possible by removing the protection grid and using a calibration grid. The microphone capsules have been artificially aged. The equalization of the static air pressure between the inside and outside of the capsule is by means of a capillary tube rearvented in the preamplifier. This enables the use of the optional dehumidifier. The capsule uses the international standard thread 60 UNS which ensures compatibility with a widerange of calibration equipment and measurement devices available from many manufacturers. The MK 255 can be used with different measurement microphone preamplifiers with phantom powered preamplifier, as the MV 204 (conventional LEMO connector), MV 210 (IEPE, current powered version with BNC plug), MV 220 as well as other preamplifiers without 200 V polarization voltage. The microphone capsule can be calibrated and is designed for Type 1 sound level meters according to DIN IEC 61672. The optional dehumidifier can be screwed between capsule and preamplifier to increase the reliability for operation in an extremely humid atmosphere.
