The town of Burgwedel has set itself the goal of achieving the legally required climate neutrality as quickly as possible. To this end, the town council adopted a sustainability strategy in 2023, which includes an emission-free heat supply for households, industry and commerce. In collaboration with Avacon and the Hannover Region Climate Protection Agency, the town of Burgwedel has now started to draw up a municipal heating plan. The aim is to develop a long-term overall municipal strategy for converting the heat supply in the town area to renewable energies. At the same time, energy consumption is to be optimized. The project partners want to present the initial results in the summer, and the heat planning should be completed by spring 2025.
