Small component – great responsibility: DS5

With the new DS5, BD|SENSORS is launching a compact pressure switch that is mainly aimed at use in mobile machinery such as cranes, excavators or harvesters. A small component that takes on a great deal of responsibility in monitoring and controlling the working pressure in lines for hydraulic units, cooling systems or steering aids and protects against malfunctions.

The pressure switch is available in the measuring ranges from 16 to 600 bar and features a switching accuracy of 1% FSO as well as a high overload. Since it is an electronic design, the DS5 is an excellent substitute for mechanical switch variants when used in conjunction with a PLC, as it has much better functionality and durability. Bouncing, arcing and contact corrosion - characteristics that often lead to process failures in mechanical variants - are a thing of the past with the DS5.

The switching points of the pressure switch are preconfigured at the factory, but can be individually adjusted by the user. The parameterization is carried out by means of connection to the PC or via the P6 programming device, which is available as an accessory from BD|SENSORS. This also prevents unwanted third-party access at the same time.

With the DS5 electronic pressure switch , users get a reliable working product whose design and functionality are convincing in practice. Due to the increased load cycles compared to mechanical designs, downtimes and the maintenance effort of the systems are minimized.
