Test method "eDrive-Testing" awarded for more efficient electric motors
2015-09-30 08:38:29, Hottinger Brüel & Kjaer GmbH The Steinbeis Foundation's transfer award, the Löhn Award, honors outstanding projects in competitive technology and knowledge transfer between science and business.
In 2015, the "Steinbeis Transfer Center Energy Efficient Power Electronics for Electric Drives and Storage Aschaffenburg in Aschaffenburg" and HBM Test and Measurement (HBM) with the project Raw Data Analysis and Precise Efficiency Measurement on Electric Drives (eDrive Testing for short) are among the sponsors of the Transfer Award. Driven by high customer requirements from the field, both partners jointly derived and practically implemented the specifications of the measuring devices and the data analysis.
The excellent "eDrive Testing" solution enables developers and producers of electric motors and frequency converters to identify efficiency reserves in the motor and drive. This involves, for example, better efficiency, higher maximum power and optimized drive behavior.
In addition to the progress made in increasing the efficiency of electric motors, the award also recognizes the fact that the intensive cooperation between science and industry has made it possible to enter new industries and markets quickly.
