The XF flowmeters
2018-09-25 08:29:33, GHM-Messtechnik GmbH | GHM GROUP CORPORATEFlow meters are instruments for determining the volume flow. In principle, they use very different methods to generate a flow-dependent electrical signal that is evaluated and transmitted with the aid of a transmitter.
The XF flow measurement system uses a method for this purpose that does not require any moving parts that are subject to wear. A flexible orifice plate in the flow channel, on which an encapsulated magnet is mounted, changes its opening angle depending on the flow velocity. The externally mounted transmitter detects the change in position from the change in magnetic field strength and calculates the opening angle and flow velocity from this. It outputs this information as a signal.
Quite unlike the turbine, the XF flowmeter operates virtually wear-free and is resistant to out-of-range measurements even well outside normal operating limits. In addition, it responds much more directly because no rotating masses need to be accelerated or decelerated.
Signal diversity with different outputs.
The signal itself can be provided in different forms: as a switching signal, as a voltage or current signal, as a frequency signal or as a quantity signal. In addition, variants with a display are also available.
