With the SDNC 500 flow and temperature sensor with IO-Link, a product from measurement technology expert EGE Elektronik GmbH was recently nominated for an industry award. In category A "Measurement and Sensor Technology" of the Audience Award, customers and users can vote for the SDNC 500 or one of the six other nominated products until March 29. The SDNC 500 from EGE has made it to the shortlist due to its compactness, which has been consistently designed to accommodate an IO-Link. The robust device does without a display, potentiometer or buttons, for example, and thus achieves the particularly space-saving dimensions of 37 x 37 mm. The sensor, which is suitable for flow rates of liquid media from 0.02 to 8 liters/min and media temperatures from 0 to +60 °C, is thus the world's smallest flow meter with IO-Link. Insensitive to moisture and vibration, the sensors in the series can be easily mounted inline in the pipeline with their G¼ threaded connection. The IO-Link USB master, which can be supplied on request, offers users the option of configuring even compact systems smartly and conveniently from a PC or laptop and using process data for remote maintenance. A teach-in function for limit and range values is thus also available.
