As the central decision-making and supervisory body, the University Council has the function of a supervisory board. In addition to the elected internal members of the Senate, it consists of ten personalities from science and culture, in particular from business and professional practice. The external members are appointed by the Minister of Science. This means that external expertise can also be included in university management. The Board's tasks include the election of the President and Vice-Presidents. It also passes resolutions on the basic regulations, university development planning and the introduction of new degree courses.
