MiCS-MOS: MEMS-based gas sensors from SGX Sensortech for easy measurement of air quality
2015-08-24 07:20:43, Angst+Pfister Sensors and Power AG The MEMS-based MiCS MOS sensors simplify the detection of gases that affect air quality. The central sensing technology combines innovative metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) chemistry with a MEMS structure and responds rapidly to changes in the concentration of a wide range of gases including carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, ozone and VOCs. This technology has been mass produced by SGX for more than 10 years and is subject to strict quality control. It is firmly established in the automotive industry, where it regulates the air intake in vehicle air conditioning systems.
The program includes the following sensors:
MiCS-2614, ozone gas sensor (10 ppb to1000 ppb)
MiCS-5524, carbon monoxide and VOC gas sensor (0 ppm to 500 ppm)
MiCS-2714, nitrogen dioxide gas sensor (50 ppb to10 ppm)
MiCS-4514, dual carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide gas sensor (1 ppm to 1000 ppm/50 ppb to 5000 ppb)
MiCS-5914, ammonia gas sensor (1 ppm to 300 ppm)
MiCS-6814, triple carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ammonia gas sensor (1 ppm to 1000 ppm/50 ppb to 5000 ppb/1 ppm to 300 ppm)
Pewatron offers a MiCS quick-start board module through which various models can be easily tested. The user hereby has the possibility to test the MiCS-MOS gas sensor within a few minutes after opening the packaging. The MiCS quick start board supports any input power supply from 7 V to 15 V, and all six sensors can be tested individually by inserting the sensor into the integrated IC universal socket and setting the five jumpers according to the circuit diagram.
