Precise high-speed torque transducer
2016-04-22 02:23:56, Hottinger Brüel & Kjaer GmbH Whether in motor sports or in the aerospace industry: Performance testing of high-speed motors and drives at high speeds is an important factor. With the T40HS, HBM has developed a space- and cost-saving torque flange for speeds up to 45,000 min-1 that transmits signals without contact while ensuring maximum precision.
Thanks to the short measuring flange design, the T40HS has a high torsional stiffness, which allows dynamic measurements, among other things. Moreover, no additional bearings are required, which eliminates any maintenance effort. Due to its compact design, the torque transducer saves space and is therefore easy to integrate into the test bench, reducing costs in the test bench design.
The use of titanium results in a low mass moment of inertia with a comparable design and thus a reduction in dynamic torque during acceleration processes. Another resulting advantage is the comparatively low mass of the T40HS. This reduces the bearing load on the drive machine and increases the service life.
Typical applications for the T40HS high-speed torque transducer can be found in high-speed drives, turbines, gear test benches, adjustable actuators, and efficiency checks of complete drive trains.
