Rate-of-rotation sensors-Compact, precise and extremely resilient
2018-12-12 10:05:22, ASC GmbHThe parameters of ASC's angular rate sensors speak for themselves: They not only feature a very low noise density of 0.02°/s/√Hz, but also convince with a low angular error (Angle Random Walk) of only 0.2°/√Hz. The gyroscopes are very easy to install due to their compact design and are therefore suitable for a wide range of applications.
In the automotive industry, the ASC angular rate sensors are already being used successfully in tests that measure vehicle behavior in curves or when starting off.
This includes dynamic yaw and roll rate measurements as well as position and motion measurements and slip tests. The excellent bias stability of the sensors (9°/hr) and their low sensitivity to shocks and vibrations convinced the test engineers.
The gyroscopes from Pfaffenhofen in Upper Bavaria are also used in railroad technology. Here, the sensors determine the angle of inclination of wagons during the journey. Another area of application in rail transport is the measurement of geometry errors in track curves.
ASC's angular rate sensors are available in a uniaxial (ASC 271) and a triaxial version (ASC 273). Both offer pre-selectable measuring ranges of ±75, ±150, ±300 and ±900°/s, a shock resistance of 500 g and an attractive price/performance ratio.
