Reliable level measurement in water and wastewater Plastic immersion probe with robust ceramic sensor

Deposits build up on immersion probes over time - a potential source of error for the measurement. Removing the fouling can easily destroy a sensitive stainless steel sensor membrane. Here, the LMK 808 scores with its robust, capacitive sensor made of high-purity ceramics (99.9% Al2O3), which is insensitive to deposits. Any contamination can be easily removed without damaging the membrane.
Intelligent surge protection
With separable immersion probes, BD|SENSORS developed a successful concept in the 1990s that set a time- and cost-saving standard. The probe head of the LMK 808 can also be separated from the cable section. It can be unscrewed and replaced without tools, while the laid cable continues to be used - a decisive advantage in the event of servicing and a pleasing side effect in terms of stock-keeping.
BD|SENSORS submersible probes generally have overvoltage protection in the cable section that dissipates lightning. With stronger flashes, however, there is a risk of damaging the probe head and cable. The LMK 808 has an improved overvoltage protection integrated directly in the probe head. It dissipates pulse currents up to 8 kA. Should a defect occur due to lightning, only the probe head needs to be replaced, the cable remains intact.
No chance for rodents
Laid underground or in cable shafts, the long probe cables often fall victim to the teeth of small rodents and have to be replaced at great expense. BD|SENSORS now comes up with a rodent-resistant solution: the sheathing of the cable with a steel mesh offers effective protection against rats & co.
