Condition monitoring made easy - with IO-Link

Condition monitoring aims to continuously record and evaluate the status of machines and processes. This allows you to identify potential weaknesses at an early stage and initiate countermeasures. As a result, machine failures and plant downtimes and the associated costs can be significantly reduced.

Why IO-Link

IO-Link makes it easy to set up a monitoring network that provides you with continuous data. Classic measured variables of condition monitoring such as temperature, position, fill level or system pressure can be easily monitored and the information transported by IO-Link to where you need it: to the control station, to the machine, to mobile devices or to the machine control system, etc.

The IO-Link master

The core element for condition monitoring with IO-Link is the IO-Link master, to which you simply attach sensors, actuators and sensor/actuator hubs via a standard cable. This network module is available from Balluff for all common fieldbus technologies to transmit data in best signal quality from the lower field level to the gateway of your choice. Data can be exchanged with any target system via the Balluff IO-Link master's integrated web server. We offer a wide range of interfaces to connect the master to classic control systems and IT systems.

Sensors

Connect standard sensors to the master, use reliable process data. If you also use intelligent sensor technology, you receive a variety of additional data: for example, the meta and diagnostic data for the sensor, information about the process or the parameters of the setting and thus an indication of whether the settings are still correct or whether you should carry out fine-tuning.
