Short and (very) good - The speed sensor of the FC series from RHEINTACHO

The sensor comes up with convincing features:
- Extremely short design (immersion depth 30 mm / total 49.5 mm)
- Protection class IP69K
- Customer-specific adjustable phase shift of the 2 output channels
- Measuring surface pressure-resistant up to 15 bar

Hall sensors are predestined for precise speed measurement on ferromagnetic structures. These can be classic gears as well as other geometries. With 2-channel sensors, the direction of rotation is also recorded in addition to the speed. This is done by outputting two square wave signals with a phase offset.

The sensor housing of the FC series is designed as a flange sensor and is made of high-strength brass. The high mechanical robustness is achieved, among other things, by the fact that the sensor housing and sensor flange are manufactured from one piece. The asymmetrical flange design ensures error-free, simple installation.

The cable outlet is designed to save space at an angle of 90° to the sensor housing. This construction, combined with an intelligent design of the sensor electronics, makes the sensor extremely short: Immersion depth 30 mm, total height 49.5 mm. These small dimensions were an important development goal. RHEINTACHO therefore also preferred a cable outlet to a quite possible plug solution. Common connector concepts increase the overall height due to the system.

For the complex and stable connection of sensor housing and sensor head, RHEINTACHO uses a mechanical process that has been proven in operation for many years. As a result, the sensor achieves protection class IP69K and thus qualifies for harsh environmental conditions.
